Titans 12U team wins inaugural NAPHL Championship

The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) held its T1ER League Playoffs and Championship this weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana with the first ever event and Championship at the 11, 12, and 13U age groups, and the Titans 12U team went undefeated to win the 12U championship.

Coach Serpico’s team won all five games by a combined 40 – 7. They defeated the Arizona Bobcats in game one 8 – 0; they beat the Carolina Premier Hockey by the same score in game two. They defeated the Northwest Stars 9 – 0 in game three, and they defeated CarShield 9 – 3 in the semi-finals. The played the Bobcats again in the finals and downed Arizona 6 – 4 in the finals.

Brendon Matysczak led the Red Buckets with thirteen total points (7 goals and 6 assists) in the five games as well as goals (seven). Strider Carhart (6 goals and 6 assists), Andrei Bratanau (6 goals and 4 assists), and Jack Dunne (4 goals and 6 assists) each had double points in the tournament.

Deklan Martin (1.33 GAA and .958 SV%) and David Gawalis (1.56 GAA and .941 SV%) had a combined 1.42 goals against average and .953 save percentage with three shutouts.
