The New Jersey Titans are pleased to announce the Girls’ Players of the Week for Week Ending January 24, 2021. Only players that are recommended by their respective teams are considered for the Players of the Week award.
Tier 1 19U – Sydney McCormack – First Star
McCormack had three points (2 goals and 1 assists) on January 23rd vs Ironbound Elite 19AAA. Her second goal came during 3v3 OT in the 4-3 Titans win.
Tier 2 19U - Gillian Kibbey – First Star
Kibbey’s speed and athleticism allowed her to hustle past her opponents giving herself a breakaway and unassisted goal in Sunday’s game against the Princeton Tiger Lilies. She has been a key player on the team this season not only with making smart decisions to help control game play but also her ability to skate the puck out of the zone and up the ice. She continues to improve with every game.
Tier 2 19U – Adrianna Granato – Second Star
Granato’s a consistent player who continues to improve each week as a player both in individual skill and hockey sense. She has a tremendous work ethic in both practice and games. Her ability to create offense plays to force turnovers and support line rushes has benefitted the team in creating scoring opportunities. She has been a asset to the team this season.
Tier 1 14U - Lily LaTour – First Star
LaTour assisted her teammate in the game Saturday against the Jersey Shore Wildcats Bantam B team to give the Titans the 1-0 lead. Lily has been an asset to the team this season stepping out of her defense position to play as a forward. She has consistently improved in skill and hockey IQ and continues to be a leader on the team. In this week’s game, she was hard on the puck, won battles, played smart in all three zones. As well she applied her knowledge of coach’s systems to her play- which is a great team attribute.
Tier 1 14U - Bridie Fitzgerald – Second Star
Fitzgerald stood out this weekend in the game against the Jersey Shore Wildcats Bantam B Team. She was consistent throughout the game showing tenacity in the corners battling for the puck and making key plays to help her team control the game. Bridie’s aggressive style of play and stamina is impressive, and she does an excellent job of always keeping her feet moving.
