The New Jersey Titans Youth Hockey Program is pleased to announce that Cindy Toye will be joining the Girls’ Tier 1 19U team’s coaching staff for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

Toye played her youth hockey at the Brick Hockey Club and well as the Princeton Tiger lilies. She was a member of the Brick Township High School boys’ varsity team. She went onto play collegiate hockey at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Toye was the ECAC Rookie of the Year in 1997 and First Team All ECAC. In 98 games, she scored 128 goals (school record) and had 84 assists. Toye was inducted into the RPI Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010.

Toye is Level 4 USA Hockey Certified. She has over ten years of experience at all levels from mite through midget both for boys and girls for the Brick Hockey Club. Her 2016 U16 Brick Hockey Club girls team won the Atlantic District Championship and went onto the USA Hockey Nationals in Burlington, VT.

“I am excited for the opportunity to join the Titans organization” state Toye. “I love the direction that George is taking the club on the girls’ side. He’s brought in an excellent staff of female coaches and I’m proud to be a part of it” concluded Toye.

“I am phenomenally excited about the opportunity to have Cindy work inside of our girls’ program” stated Titans President and Hockey Director George Haviland. “Cindy is a product of the Atlantic District and grew up playing in the Brick Hockey Club with the boys. Cindy played in a day when most girls didn’t play hockey. The thing I most remember about Cindy was that she was as good as any other boy out there on the ice! Then when she got into the girl’s game, she excelled beyond belief having a great four-year career at RPI College. Her ability to make the most of her opportunities and seize the moment as a leader was second to none, although I never coached her” added Haviland.

“I always admired her play and I’m very, very excited about the notion of her coaching our 19U team and being involved with our other younger girl members on the skill development side. I personally believe she will add super value in having her being involved in our Titans women’s program as we grow it” concluded Haviland.
